COMMON QUESTIONS ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The certification process to become a Certified Software Partner ensures that our frameworks and IP are correctly implemented in your software offering, with certification maintained through annual reviews and program fees.
The certification process includes:
- Assessment & Training: Partners undergo an initial assessment and training to integrate WbD IP—such as Bowtie and SPICED—into their product.
- Implementation & Demo: Partners apply these frameworks and present a comprehensive demo, highlighting customer experience, integration design, and training content.
- Evaluation & Feedback: A WbD Revenue Architect assesses the implementation based on four key criteria:
- Accurate model integration
- Seamless user experience
- Compliance with WbD best practices
- Alignment with future roadmap strategies
- Iteration & Approval: Partners receive feedback and refine their implementation as needed until it meets certification standards.
- Certification & Support: Once certified, partners earn the Winning by Design Certified badge and gain access to ongoing resources and advisory support.
What does the certification cover?
The certification focuses on the proper implementation and representation of WbD frameworks and IP within your software. However, it does not include:
- Product-specific certifications (e.g., QA or security audits)
- Technical architecture evaluations
- Regulatory compliance verification
- Commercial strategy assessment
These areas remain the responsibility of the partner.

We do require brand attribution for all partner integrations as spelled out in our Creative Commons License. Beyond these foundational guidelines, we maintain flexibility in how partners implement our brand elements and we can integrate these discussions into the certification process.
As for content, anything included in the Reference Library marked with a Creative Commons License can be used in your product with attribution to Winning by Design.
Our Certified Software Partner Program has a number of marketing benefits, including joint partnership announcements, a Partner of the Month feature, as well as periodic ad-hoc co-marketing activities.
Certified Software Partners will also be listed on our Certified Partner Directory to potentially elicit inbound leads searching for solutions.
Our Certified Software Partner Program costs $30,000 per year.
