About the role

Winning by Design is looking to hire a Fractional, Interim, or Full-Time CFO in North America.

The ideal candidate will have experience in Financial Visibility, Reporting, and Investor Relationships. They will work closely with our firm’s and client’s leadership on strategic initiatives, growth management, financial reporting and M&A.

You will be providing insight on the company’s business plan, input on financial and tax strategies, advising on business strategy and structure.

  • Investor Relationships – Helping with potential financing strategies for the business, evaluating best strategies to maximize valuation and create opportunities for shareholder equity, and support investor outreach and relationships (note: we have active conversations with bank about debt facilities and with growth/private equity funds and need you to run the process)
  • Financial Analysis – we are modeling how to scale to become a $1Bn business and are actively re-thinking some of our structure/compensation and you would help us analyze these from a financial/cash point of view
  • Growth Management – helping to implement systems to support sustainable growth through roadmaps, analytics, etc.
  • Financial Reporting – benchmarking the business, assisting in presenting the financials of our business in an understandable and positive light to investors, improving reporting and accounting setup, and advising on appropriate metrics that a business like ours should be tracking.
  • Forward-Facing Financial Visibility – evaluating and advising on forecasting, long-term planning and program implementation.
  • M&A – Helping to evaluate potential acquisition targets, helping to structure any acquisitions or acui-hire deals, working with legal and tax firms to structure deals.

About you

Ideally, you’ve been in an Executive Finance role in a services/consulting business, but also have relevant (SaaS) experience in financial reporting, M&A, and Investor Relationships. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of sales processes and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity, as a rapidly scaling business we need to be able to evolve to meet the needs of our internal and external stakeholders.
  • Specific skills required in the areas of data analysis (spreadsheets), data visualization (Google Presentations), and interpersonal skills (interviewing executives and presenting results).
  • Proven track record of growing businesses as a CFO or VP of Finance
  • Consulting Services experience is a must with previous experience in Software SaaS and Private Equity as a plus.
  • Experience in quarter end reporting, forecasting, modeling, and operations
  • A natural curiosity with a big picture mentality
  • Fluent in Excel, Google Sheets, Google Slides, pivot tables, building queries, tailored slide decks
  • Knowledge of or interested in learning various Sales Enablement platforms – Salesforce, CRM, Asana, Zoom, Asana, Slack, G Suite
  • Able to create slide decks and content
  • You obsess over attention to detail, are highly organized, and love to learn about new things
  • You are a hustler – quickly gathering and synthesizing information, learning on the fly, and drawing insightful and informed conclusions
  • You have excellent communication skills and aren’t afraid to ask questions, form educated opinions, and speak your mind in a room full of smart people
